Distributed associative memory for use in scene analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
A distributed associative memory system which is ideal for scene analysis is described. Recall of associated patterns using incomplete originals is made possible by the use of a distributed storage mechanism and a novel recall procedure. The memory is shown to store associations between patterns more efficiently than a conventional file store. The paper describes the memory structure, the recall process and its storage abilities, as well as an example of its implementation in hardware.

VGLADs: The Efficient Implementation of Binary Neural Networks
In the paper we describe a device based upon logic array principles but which is capable of providing many large functions. A device providing 2 of 2 variables is readily achievable with an evaluation time of the order of tens of milliseconds. By suitable programming the device is capable of emulating the function of binary weighted neural networks. Hence we are currently implementing the ADAM ...
متن کاملScene analysis by integrating primitive segmentation and associative memory
Scene analysis is a major aspect of perception and continues to challenge machine perception. This paper addresses the scene-analysis problem by integrating a primitive segmentation stage with a model of associative memory. The model is a multistage system that consists of an initial primitive segmentation stage, a multimodule associative memory, and a short-term memory (STM) layer. Primitive s...
متن کاملAssociative learning and memory duration of Trichogramma brassicae
Learning ability and memory duration are two inseparable factors which can increase theefficiency of a living organism during its lifetime. Trichgramma brassice Bezdenko (Hym.:Trichogrammatidae) is a biological control agent widely used against different pest species. This research was conducted to study the olfactory associative learning ability and memoryduration of T. brassicae under laborato...
متن کاملThe Effects of Goal Relevance and Perceptual Features on Emotional Items and Associative Memory
Showing an emotional item in a neutral background scene often leads to enhanced memory for the emotional item and impaired associative memory for background details. Meanwhile, both top-down goal relevance and bottom-up perceptual features played important roles in memory binding. We conducted two experiments and aimed to further examine the effects of goal relevance and perceptual features on ...
متن کاملThe Quantum Binding Problem in the Context of Associative Memory
We present a method to solve the binding problem by using a quantum algorithm for the retrieval of associations from associative memory during visual scene analysis. The problem is solved by mapping the information representing different objects into superposition by using entanglement and Grover's amplification algorithm.
